Making the hearts


1 On a lightly greased non-stick board roll out some mexican paste. Place the paste over the heart mould. Trim the paste at the half way line and remove the excess.

2 Emboss the paste with the small rose embosser. Leave to dry. Make a further three hearts.

3 Use a little softened sugarpaste or royal icing to join two halves together.

4 Pipe a line of icing over the seam and attach the pearls.

5 Brush the hearts with ivory shimmer. Attach both the hearts to the cake using sugarpaste peices to hold them in position. Sugar or silk flowers are arranged to disguise the sugarpaste supports.
